Down time
Just wanted to say "Hi, I'm still alive."
I'm just having a little down time.
I turn 40 this coming weekend and have been quietly reflecting and reading. I will be back sometime next week most likely.
I can't recommend The Book Of Lost Things enough!

It's always good to take some 'me' time. Just wanted to say how good the article in Cloth Paper Scissors is. I do something similar based on the mind mapping process and it always works.
Enjoy the time to yourself but I miss your blog. There's always something to inspire.

Happy Birthday! I'm 40 next week (and not nearly as excited about it as I sound...). I think _being_ 40 will be just fine (because really, what are my choices?) but I think _turning_ 40 is going to kick my *ss.
Here's to making the most of it!

Happy 40th! I used my 40th birthday as an excuse to take a self-imposed sabbatical from teaching to concentrate on my art for a year. Highly recommend "me" time. :-)
Oh yes, saw your work in the latest Cloth, Paper, Scissors. Great work!

Juju - As I keep telling you gals 40 is the new 30! There is always an up side to everything, its just the way you look at it.
For me it meant feeling confident probably for the first time ever.
You dont have to compete with the trendies, skinnies or be brain of Britain as you have alittle more life experience. Now I'm 50 something it too has its ups - everyone seems to be so nice to you and your that much closer to free travel whoopeee!!!!!
On the down side there is hot flushes, braindrain, dry skin and that extra doughnut around my middle where my waist used to be. Other than that things are just peachy!
Enjoy the 40's you look fab and we love you!

You are entering a time of huge upheaval and change in all corners of your self and your life. I am so glad that you are honouring the beginning of your midlife in this meaningful way. Peace.

I had in mind a song this morning, noyhing to do with your birthday but maybe : "It's the most wonderful time of the year"...Maybe so, it's the most wonderful time for you to take a break, to think and let the things go a little...
I turned 50 last week, no so suffering...all is in the heart and...a little on the body...
Happy birthday, take some time just for you...
