I've just been camping with my son's graduating primary school class. He got lost with another boy in the woods of Epping Forest for a few scary hours, but came back happy. They were on an adventure and imagined themselves as a wizard and a monk, which is much better than what I was imagining!
While away, I knit my Camp Betty hat in Rowan's Purelife 4-ply cotton:
I'm writing the pattern for it now and will be offering it for free next week.
If you go into the woods, remember your magic wand!

You have had quite a scare - I'm glad to hear that all went well and that your boy came back safe and sound.
The cloche looks great!

Hi Juju
I haven't visited your blog for ages, I like the new look, and love all the pics of you in the Japanese outfits. I would love to buy one of the books and follow your instructions on Flickr, but do you think that someone quite new to sewing will cope?
I don't know if you remember me but I did a course with you at Loop a few years ago. I am living back in South Africa now and am missing being crafty, so it's great to know that you are doing things on Flickr for people like me who are far away.
Take care
Ilka

That must have given you quite a scare when your son was lost! Nice to have him home safe and sound with his stories of wizards and monks (dont they have the best imaginations?).
Love your gorgeous hat and would like to try and knit somehting like that (but I'm no good at anything with holes, I get them in all of the wrong places). Love those skeins of wool you have dyed too!
Jacky.
