Why is the alphabet in that order? Is it because of the song?

Yes I used to make hooked rugs.
I stopped because: they took forever, they hurt my back and cramped my hands, they were dusty, they required a lot of storage for materials, I didn't know what to do with them when they were finished, I liked the old ones better, I lost interest and probably other reasons too.
Remember, I have a whim of iron.
Wow. I love them. Esp. the bottom one. Couldn't you sell them?

Hi!
I understand what you mean about what to do with the rugs! And yes they take too much time to finish... still it would be interesting giving a present to a friend made by yourself... it will be cherished and the work will be appreciated... they are beautiful!
bye, manela

Phew, I'm so glad I bought your book and just looked at the FABULOUS pictures instead of trying it myself!!

I, too, have a "whim of iron" and I'm about to attempt my first rug. Yours are beautiful!

Love these! Reminds me of Marc Chagall.
I'm trying a smaller version of hooked rugs, Russian punch embroidery. Hoping to end up with the same feel, but on a much smaller scale.

Those are just incredible! I love your work! Thanks for posting the photos! After a few rugs I started to make small wall pieces and smaller things that I could "stuff" and sell...birds, gnomes, hearts, etc....and I have boxes of recycled and dyed wool to last a lifetime.

Well then, whim of iron suits you perfectly... everything you whip up is gold!
I love these, they remind me of Chagall paintings too...they're just shy of a goat. ;)

Somewhere deep within the depths of craft paraphernalia lies a half started rug. Like so many never finished projects it started life as a very exciting adventure, only to be thrown aside when the excitement was outweighed by tedium.
I think the rugs are beautiful and maybe you could hang them!

i did latchook as a kid. for some reason, i enjoy having mindless stuff like that to do. yours are amazing! have you thought about building a frame for them? you could use plexiglass if they are big so they don't get dusty. love them. i have seen the ones people do that are portraits and i love them. so cool
and the new look of your blog is wonderful.
