I'm Well-Traveled. Not really, my mind just wanders.

That should be my daughter's motto. Bless her, she is a bit of a meander-thal. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I think I get some of my best work done while I'm daydreaming.
I've just read Jane A Sassaman's book, The Quilted Garden.
I think it's worth the price for the writing alone! One of the things she talks about is how she finds daydream time so important. She looks through inspiring picture books each day to get her creative juices flowing. I can relate to that, can't you?
She shows lots of pictures of her workspaces and writes about her thought process very clearly.
I've got an issue going on in my personal life that's making me sick at the moment and I crave pretty pictures to soothe me. What soothes you when you are most agitated? Sewing or knitting also help (and a glass of wine, or two). I've made loads of these:
I'll happily explain how if you're interested.
Today's inspiration: The Quilted Garden, by Jane A Sassaman, of course.
Likes: Christmas crafting
Dislikes: "Cat-walk style". As in, buy this necklace from Woolworths/Argos/Crapstore and you will have "cat-walk style". What planet do these advertisers live on?
oooh yes! do tell more about the little flower. looks like a bumbler like me could maybe... just maybe make one?
they are adorable!

Hmm, I've had "personal issues" for the past two weeks and crafting something pretty definetly soothes my soul. I also treat myself like a best loved friend with lots of nice soaks in the tub, soothing scented lotions and the very necessary glass or two of wine. Things always seem to pass, and we go on, sometimes chnaged sometimes not, but we always continue. Try a cup of chamomile tea.

Wine. Definitely wine. And knitting. Though the other demands on my time are interfering with the knitting and that's even more frustrating. 'Tis the season, as they say, but we haven't even gotten 'round to the holiday crazy yet at my house. ;-)
The flower is precious. Kumiko Sudo? I've wanted that latest book for a bit. And I'm a huge fan of J. Sassaman as well.
p.s. I never thanked you for the heads up about Pandora radio. It's marvelous!

I agree with the pretty-picture thing (and the quilt on the cover of the book is yummy). Speaking of yummy quilts, I came across this one yesterday (scroll down for 'Sweeping Beauty') and it really made me smile:

Catwalk style makes me gag, too. That, and pretty much any ad for dolls. There's lots of weird, revolting ones for dolls, which make me wish I hadn't had a girl.

I find cleaning the house and chucking out lots of stuff helps. So much enjoying reading your likes and dislikes. And I love gazing at your art and the other artists you feature. Glad you like lurkers.. okay, back to lurking.

Yes, and I have had tough stuff happening too - been spending time curled up under a blanket with a mindless book. It is my recipe for soothing distraction.

Wine is a MUST and preferably sipped while lying in a spa bath with a great book at hand. I am going through a "yucky" time at the moment and have found blogging to be the miracle cure! Your blog and your sense of humour have been most theraputic :) Thanks

When stressed, I just redesign the on-line shop, which hasn't even opened yet! (I'm on the 5th redesign. So, um, yeah)
I find it so funny that I read so many blogs that I forget not all of them are American. Your reference to Argos made me smile :) (Oh Richard E. Grant, how the mighty have fallen..)
