Mummy, I'd love you even if you were a piece of poo...but I might wear gloves to hug you.
My son Quinte, eight and three quarters years old
That's Herman, the German giant rabbit. He's just there for the pure pleasure of him. Also, because I'm doing an on line animal making course with Marlaine Verhelst and I'm probably going to make a hare or rabbit. Herman is part of my research. I haven't really started on it because I'm still writing my damn book. Almost done, just two more days.
Thanks to everyone who wrote in about my quilt. You've given me some great ideas. I'm going scrappy and I'm researching the piecing as-you-go method. Anyone have more information on that? I too usually rush into these kinds of projects but I think it deserves a lot of thought since it will require some long term steam.
For any adults out there who love a picture book, I have three must-reads.
- Graham Rawle's Woman's world. Wow, wow, wow. Meta-fiction's first best-seller. You'll never think the same way about collage and 1960S women's magazines again. And what plot!!
- Alison Bechdal's Fun Home. Nothing like a dysfunctional semi-fictional family to make me happy.
- And finally Tim the Tiny Horse by Harry Hill, who English reader's will know as a funny guy. This book will make your heart sing.
Today's Inspiration: I'm sure Graham Rawle is a genius!
Likes: Non-celebrity Autographs and other of Mr. Rawle's fine series.
Dislikes: Getting out of bed on winter mornings. Isn't it a piece of poo?
I am in *love* wieh Herman's feet!
So huge! So fuzzy! :-)

Now that is a big rabbit! Look forward to seeing your workshop makes. Good luck with the quilt. I am handquilting without a frame at the moment and though I basted well it is buckling a bit. I am wondering whether to frame bit by bit with an embroidery hoop? Enjoyable nonetheless.

That's one hell of a rabbit... For your quilt check out Jinny Beyer's CD on handquilting. The video tutorials are brilliant.

I love your sons quote for today!!! and on the matter of getting out of bed being a piece of poo, it certainly was this morning, getting up knowing I had to go out in the rain and gales I could hear raging around. uurgh. Why dont we all move somewhere warm for the winter?

My house rabbit's name was Potemkin...he was a big Rex rabbit kind of like Herman...the quintessential bun. I don't miss him.

Is that rabbit for real? Holy cow, it's actually quite frightening. Creepy Herman.
That quote from your son is priceless.
Look forward to seeing the results of your animal making class!
