What Americans think of the British, from book by Paul Davis.
Two weeks ago I went off to Whitstable to do a workshop with Janet Bolton. I'd done a workshop with Janet before but find it really relaxing and enjoyable to have a whole weekend just to sew pictures. Also, Janet is a great presence. My favourite bit about her workshops is how she weaves her personal history together with the way she works. She is a very entertaining but humble speaker.
As usual, I enjoyed myself. I made this picture of my dream rooster rabbit, which looks a little like my dad.
I don't feel particularly proud of it but I enjoyed the experience. The applique will go away in my drawer of finished works. It may come out at a future date. But don't worry about it. It has lots of company in there.
Today's inspiration: Joseph Raffael video of "painting spirit"
Likes: puddles of watercolour paint
I love that!! It is absolutely darling and beautiful. I think you should do rabbit portraits of your whole family :)

Love the colours and the serious look on Mr Rooster-Rabbit's face. I fell in love with one of Janet Bolton's pieces on display in Gateshead before poverty (i.e child birth)struck a few years ago, but I didn't buy it. Been kicking my own butt for years about that...

I especially love the use of polka dots as a compositional pattern: the yellow dots at the top, the white dots on the blue lollipop, the dimples in Rabbit's jersey. Lovely!

Your web blog and your creations are amazing and inspirational to such as me who loved teaching and education and creativity more than 100% in the primary classroom until SAT's killed all that!!! Life became so PC orientated that I was forced to get out with major illness .... and here I am looking at your wonderful Mr or Mrs Bunny Wunny and wishing I could be it's owner... so should you wish to pass it on... I am the one!! I am wondering why you are not proud of your production. Every parent should be proud of his/her offspring just as every creator should be proud of what he/she has produced. Why bother to have published it? Keep making things and telling us all about them. Thank you to JUJU From EP
