I hate my supervisor. Behind her desk it says, "You don't have to be mad to work here, but it helps." Mind you, she's written it in her own shit. Alan Carr
I had a question about how the Diane Ericson, Fault lines pattern turned out, when I sewed it.
I tried it out in a cheap shirting fabric with a fleece vest to see how it fitted. I needed to alter it quite a bit to get over the 36F's or it would have fastened right at a nipple. Here's the shirt (jacket) on my skinny dummy:
Here it is with the red fleece vest. Again I was trying it out so I didn't want to use expensive fabrics.
I don't think either of the fabrics did it any favors. I'm not sure whether I'll make it again.
I found wonderful Middle Aged Teacher through Wardrobe Remix on Flickr, which is run by the funky dresser Tricia Royal. Love this look:
Great Shoes!
I wish they had more big girls on Wardrobe Remix. But, that is up to big girls like me to submit themselves, I guess.
A last pic of one of my felt pictures. This is the first one I've shown anyone.
I think you need to see a detail photo along with it. I'll work on that.
Today's Inspiration: Annette Totzauer's felt jewelery (look under Filz>picture of the beads).
Likes: I'd like a pair of felt boots next winter.
Hi Juju:
Love the felt... the clothing too. As for your 36F's... Am endowed as you know in the same fashion... You must make a custom bust form to fit over your skinny one. Have made them out of both paper tape and duct tape. There are tons of tutorials posted online (threads magazine). They are cheap, fast and amusing to make. You can redo them after weight gain or loss. With big boobs without some major darting anything kimono shaped makes me look huge and as if wearing bed linen. Agree with you about needing more curvy girls at Wardrobe Remix so get sewing and posting! Va va voom... NOT BIG

Great felt picture! And thank you for posting your Fault Lines garments. I fear I'll need to do some fitting when I make mine, too. I love the long sleeves on the "undershirt" - may have to try that. I like the shirting you used for the top - the stripes add interest. Thanks again - I am loving your clothes posts.
Middle Aged Teacher: she is super rad.

Hi, I am also gorgeous (plus size) and would love sites and patterns for my bod that actually suit my shape. I am an textiles / art student, mum, explorer and adventurer. This year we are doing wearable art, garmet construction, deconstruction and reconstruction. It is so tricky for us big girls. Anyway, I love your site, check in weekly for updates. Just wanted to say hi and let you know I visit.

As a 36G myself, I'm really disappointed you didn't post a photo of yourself in the clothes you made. Maybe you could start posting the odd photo here and then build up to joining wardrobe re-mix- it looks like you'd get quite a fan-base. And it looks like you have a great sense of style. Or, even better, maybe we should start our own off-shoot: the va-va-voom wardrobe re-mix!

btw, thanks for posting about wardrobe_remix...always appreciated! :)
