I started taking a ceramics course, one morning a week, in October. This is something I've wanted to do for years, but avoided, so that I wouldn't start collecting all the ephemera of yet another craft. Now it is too late. I love it!
Here are a few small pieces I worked on over the Christmas holidays before they go off to the kiln for their first firing. I have no idea what they will look like when they are done. It is all still a mystery to me, but I love doing it!
Mitten season makes me happy and nostalgic. These ones are embroidered.
The cuff is worked in a circle, as follows, over 60sts:
k2, yo, k2, k2tog ~ repeat, changing colour every five rows. This automatically forms the diamond pattern and makes an elastic fabric which is good for keeping wrists warm.

One pound for a pack of six lino flooring tiles. And then you can paint your husband's six pack and loose change on them.
